Biological Aerated Filter

Biological Aerated Filter (BAF) is a kind of aerobic process bioreactor using biological carrier to treat industrial wastewater. It is widely used in the secondary and tertiary treatment of organic wastewater, which can effectively remove COD, BOD, suspended solids and ammonia nitrogen. It is suitable for wastewater treatment with high volume load and high organic load.

In the process of wastewater passing through the biological carrier, the attached high concentration microorganisms degrade the pollutants containing carbon and nitrogen. Aeration is continuously introduced from the lower part of the filter, and the microbial flocs are retained in the bottom of the reactor and the filter medium. The purified water overflows through the upper weir of the filter.

System composition: supporting layer, filter material layer, water distribution system, aeration system, backwashing system, backwashing outlet channel and outlet weir.

The biological carrier with large specific surface area was used to meet the needs of microorganisms;

Counter current design ensures the carrier to be washed while air and water are mixed to ensure the effectiveness of microbial membrane;

Non blocking water and gas distribution design to reduce maintenance;

Modularization can reduce land occupation and investment cost.

Secondary treatment of reclaimed water reuse

Food processing, papermaking wastewater treatment.
